JIND: A 17-year-old boy of Haryana's Jind committed suicide by hanging himself allegedly after his mother scolded him for playing PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) and took away his mobile phone. The teenager discontinued studies after passing Class X and spent most of his time playing PUBG, a highly addictive video game.

His father, a policeman, said "I was on duty on Saturday evening when my wife found him playing PUBG in his room and snatched his mobile phone. She found him hanging in the room the next morning," Police officials said they hadn't received any formal complaint but were investigating the issue.
