Maharashtra: Having formed the government in the state of Maharashtra following weeks of drama, the three-party alliance in Maharashtra consisting Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress have released their common minimum programme for the next five years.

The Sena-Congress-NCP alliance has announced an 80% reservation of jobs for the local youth in the state. This comes in the time of a massive economic slowdown in India. The Common Minimum Programme promises fellowships for educated and unemployed youth for the state of Maharashtra. In a formal statement, the alliance also promised that the vacant posts in various state government departments will be filled.

The CMP elaborates on a ten-point agenda. The statement released a while ago focuses on the welfare of the state's farmers as well. They have offered to waive off the farmer's loans keeping in mind the losses they suffered due to premature floods and rains.

The CMP stated that the crop insurance scheme of Maharashtra will be revised so that the struggling farmers can receive faster compensation.

Another point in the agenda revealed the alliance's plans for women's safety in the state. The statement said that girls from economically weaker sections will be given free education. Plans of constructing working women's hostels in cities and district headquarters have been revealed. Anganwadi services and Asha workers' honorarium is set to be increased.

Boosting the healthcare sector of the state is another important point in the Common Minimum Programme. One Rupee Clinics will be opened at the taluk level to conduct easy pathological tests. All districts will have their own super-speciality hospitals and medical colleges that would be opened in a phased manner. The CMP also has plans to provide health insurance cover for all the state's citizens.

As part of the Chief Minister Gram Sadak Yojana, urban development is the CMP's focus too.
