Bengaluru: JDS-Congress coalition government has collapsed in Karnataka.
Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar has declared that the government failed to prove its strength in the trust vote.
With the resignation of 15 MLAs and due to the lack of support of majority of the members, the ruling coalition lost the trust vote.
Divisional voting was conducted in the House at the behest of the Speaker. In the trust vote, the ruling coalition secured only 99 seats, as opposed to the magic figure of 103 seats. The BJP secured 105 seats.
