After the Rajya Sabha passed the bill with a majority, the Lok Sabha has followed suit.

New Delhi: The government's decision to bifurcate Jammu and Kashmir into union territories has been approved by both the upper and lower houses of the parliament. While 367 leaders voted in favour of the move, 67 voted against it.

Speaking about the government's decision, Home Minister Amit Shah stated, "Law and order situation in JK has not deteriorated; all action taken were precautionary.
