Bhopal: Even as 22 Congress MLAs sent in their resignations and 19 of them are holed up in Bengaluru, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath claimed that he was not worried and had the majority in the assembly. Kamal Nath dared the BJP to bring the rebel MLAs to Bhopal asserting that he would prove that the Congress party enjoyed a majority in the assembly. 88 MLAs attended the CLP meeting at the chief minister's residence in Bhopal on Tuesday evening.

The Congress decided to move its MLAs to Jaipur and kept three Volvo buses ready at Kamal Nath's residence in Bhopal to take the legislators to the airport. On the other hand, the BJP flew its 106 legislators in a chartered plane to Gurugram to house them in the ITC Grand Hotel at Manesar. The BJP is also keeping a close eye on the MLAs staying at a resort in Bengaluru. Not to be left out of the game, the Congress has reportedly pressed the services of DK Shiva Kumar into action.

Congress spokesperson Shobha Oza claimed that rebel MLAs from the party are in contact with the government and that they had been misled. She said that the Kamal Nath government would prove its majority on the floor of the house.

Senior leader Digvijay Singh's brother and a Congress MLA, Laxman Singh, also claimed that the Congress is prepared to fight the BJP all the way and that the party enjoyed the trust of the people.

The budget session of the Madhya Pradesh assembly is set to commence on 16th and the BJP is likely to push for a no-confidence motion against the Kamal Nath government.
