New Delhi: Addressing BJP MPs in the party's Parliamentary Board meeting on Monday Prime Minister Narendra Modi told them that national interest is supreme. Addressing the media, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Pralhad Joshi, said that the Prime Minister stressed upon the need to maintain peace and harmony in the country. PM Modi expressed anguish that that some parties had politicised the slogan, "Bharat Mata Ki Jai."

PM Modi emphasised upon peace, development and harmony as the priority. Peace is a pre-requisite for development, PM Modi, is reported to have told his party colleagues.PM Modi advised his party MPs to spread the message of 'sab ka saath, sab ka vikas, sab ka vishwas.'

PM Modi told his parliamentary colleagues that they should work to spread peace and brotherhood. Every single MP of the party should take the lead in maintaining brotherhood and drive the mantra of 'vikas'.

The Prime Minister also said that they should love their enemies and that negativity would not take them anywhere. Party leaders should place national interest as a matter of supreme significance over and above that of the party.

PM Modi is reported to have emphasised the need to work positively keeping in mind national interest above all else. His message assumes significance against the backdrop of against BJP leaders being accused of hate speeches. Several BJP leaders including Kapil Mishra faced flak following violence which rocked the national capital last week. The death toll in multiple violent incidents reached 46 and left nearly 300 injured.

Parliament had witnessed stormy scenes in both the houses on Monday over the Delhi violence.
