Jagi Mangat Panda, the managing director of Odisha TV was summoned by the Odisha State Commission For Protection of Child Rights in the case of alleged gangrape of a minor in Bhubaneshwar. Following the OSCPCR direction, jai Panda's representative appeared on her behald before the child rights body in the Odisha capital. The victim's mother too was present on the occasion.
It is learnt that the rape victim's mom accused Jagi Panda of trying to hush up the accused connected to the case. She also alleged that Jagi Panda had issued life threats to the mother-daughter duo if they breathed a word about the crime anywhere.
The mother also revealed during the OSCPCR hearing that the rape victim had met Jagi two times before approaching the cops to file a police complaint.
December 2 has been set as the next date for hearing the case. The case relates to the gangrape of a minor by OTV staff members for over a fortnight between April and May.
