New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is scheduled to visit Varanasi, is likely to give a miss to the swearing-in ceremony of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief, Arvind Kejriwal at the Ramlila Grounds on Sunday. The AAP supremo had invited PM Modi to the swearing-in ceremony.

PM Modi is scheduled to launch the Mahakaal Express linking the holy temple towns of Varanasi, Ujjain and Omkareshwar. He is also likely to kick off multiple development projects on his Varanasi visit.

The oath-taking ceremony of the AAP government will take place at 12-10 pm on Sunday at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. It is likely to be attended by over 50,000 people. The chief minister designate extended an open invitation to the people of Delhi to attend his oath-taking event.

Arvind Kejriwal will be sworn in for his third term as chief minister, along with six of his cabinet colleagues on Sunday. The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Anil Baijal, will administer the oath of office and secrecy. All the BJP MLAs from the national capital are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

Ram Lila Maidan has been decked up for the occasion and huge posters saying, 'Thank You Delhi!' have been placed in many places.

The AAP scored a stunning victory in the recently concluded Delhi elections winning 62 out of the 70 seats. In a bitterly contested elected, the AAP campaign, spearheaded by Arvind Kejriwal, kept the focus on development issues such free electricity and water supply, better education and healthcare, among other things.
