Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that his government will put in place a set of guidelines and conditions to ensure that workers from the state employed by other states enjoy adequate social security. Additionally, the UP Chief Minister is also said to have observed that other states would now be required to seek the approval of the UP government before employing workers from the state, according to media reports.

In a webinar on Sunday, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister is reported to have stated that the UP Government would formulate a set of strict guidelines for other states in order to employ people from UP. Yogi Adityanath is said to have asserted that if other states wish to employ workers from Uttar Pradesh, they will have to guarantee their social security and provide necessary insurance.

Any state which requires to hire workers from UP will also have to take the state government's nod. Yogi Adityanath is believed to have pointed out that his stance comes in the face of the treatment migrants faced in other states.

The Uttar Pradesh government is also preparing a database of the skill sets of migrant workers to put them to use and generate employment within the state itself. The UP government is said to be looking at the resource of migrant workers as a potential driver of the state's economic engine.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister pointed out that when migrant workers started coming into the state, his government had pressed into service 16,000 buses to ensure that they were brought back to their home districts in 24 hours. Proper arrangements were also made for the screening of those coming in, Yogi Adityanath is reported to have said.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said that it was unfortunate that migrants were forced to move from the states where they were employed because they faced countless difficulties there, their electricity connections were cut and no facilities to take care of them were extended in many places. Yogi Adityanath is reported to have said that if those who appear to voice concern for migrant workers had actually taken steps for them, the migration which we have seen, would not have taken place.
