A Woman Lodges FIR after Receiving Obscene Messages from 41 Numbers, In Lucknow

The woman is an undergraduate student in Lucknow. She had started receiving vulgar messages on her WhatsApp from February 3 through an international number.

A 20-year-old female who is a student in a college of Lucknow has received obscene calls and message from 41 different numbers in only 6 six days.

The woman has lodged an FIR with the nearest Krishna Nagar police station in Lucknow in this regard.

In her complaint, the undergraduate said that she had started receiving vulgar messages on her WhatsApp from February 3. The messages came from an international number.

She cleared to Police,

Whenever she blocked a particular number, the message would come from another number. Also, she started receiving obscene calls from different numbers, when she began blocking all numbers on WhatsApp.

The girl said she received so many messages from 30 different International numbers and calls from 11 International numbers. "It was traumatic," in her complaint she said to police.

She said, initially, she did not want to lodge an FIR because she was fearing social stigma, but her parents and friends persuaded her to do so. So, she has reported to police regarding the incident.

After the registered complain, Krishna Nagar Station House Officer Ram Kumar Yadav said that whatever the number they have received in the complainant had been put on surveillance and efforts were on to track down the accused.
