What is Bird Flu
Bird flu (H5N1) or Avian influenza is a viral infection that largely spread among birds, but can also affect humans
Symptoms
Fever, headache, body pain and chills, sweating, sore throat, dry cough, nasal congestion and fatigue
Who are at High Risk
- Kids below 2 & adults above 65
- People with co-morbidities
- Pregnant women and new mothers
Preventive Measures to Follow
- Avoid direct or close contact with infected poultry
- Avoid consuming uncooked or partially cooked chicken and eggs
- Cook meat at high heat to kill the virus
Treatment
Influenza antiviral drugs can help if taken within two days of symptoms.

What WHO Says
