Bumrah pips Kohli to become BCCI’s highest-paid cricketer in 2020; No Rohit in top 5

As per the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) contract for A+ cricketers, every player is paid INR 15 lakh for every Test, INR 6 lakh for an One-Day International (ODI), and INR 3 lakh for every Twenty20 International (T20I). The following numbers do not include BCCI’s annual contract fee.

Jasprit Bumrah

Bumrah represented Team in a total of 21 international matches in 2020. The fast bowler played 4 Tests, 9 ODIs, and 8 T20Is in the calendar year, meaning, he earned INR 138 crore.

Virat Kohli

Even Kohli played a match more than Bumrah – 22, the Indian skipper played one Test less and that put him in the second place in terms of salary from the BCCI in 2020. Kohli, who played three Tests, 9 ODIs, and 10 T20Is, earned INR 1.29 crore as a match fee from the BCCI.

Ravindra Jadeja

Jadeja missed the one crore-mark because he missed the final two T20Is and the opening Test against Australia due to a concussion issue. The talented all-rounder, who played 2 Tests, 9 ODIs, and 4 T20Is, drew INR 96 lakh from the BCCI as a match fee.

Rohit Sharma

India’s limited-overs skipper was sidelined for the majority of the season with an injury and he played only six matches: 3 ODIs and 4 T20Is and earned INR 30 lakh as match fee from the BCCI. Among the Indian cricketers, he was not in top five of the highest paid players from match fees.
