1,000 T20 Sixes

During an IPL 2020 match between KXIP and RR, Chris Gayle struck eight sixes, while he reached the milestone of 1,000 T20 sixes. Gayle now has 1,001 sixes in his T20 account ahead of his fellow West Indian, Kieron Pollard, who has 690 sixes to his name.

Gayle is the leading run-scorer in the shortest format, having scored 13,572 in 402 innings at an average of 38.33. Once again, Pollard is in second place, having scored 10,425 runs in 466 innings at an average of 31.59.
Most runs in a T20 Innings
The highest individual score in the T20s also belongs to Gayle, thanks to his unbeaten 175 for RCB against Pune Warriors India in IPL 2013. The next best score is of Australian captain Aaron Finch – 172 vs Zimbabwe in 2018.
Most T20 runs in a Calendar Year
No player has scored more T20 runs in a single calendar year than Gayle (in 2015) – 1,665 runs in 36 innings at an average of 59.46, including three hundreds and 10 fifties. Next on the list is Kohli, who scored 1,614 runs in 29 innings in 2016.
IPL’s Fastest Century
Gayle, during his stint with RCB, registered the record in IPL 2013 with a 30-ball century against Pune Warriors India. Yusuf Pathan is next on the list with 37-ball 100 that he scored for RR against MI in IPL 2010.

Gayle is the only player to have struck 1000+ fours and 1000+ sixes in T20s. While he recently completed 1,001 sixes, he already has hit 1,041 fours in his career in the shortest format. David Warner is second in the list, having struck 945 fours ahead of McCullum with 924 fours.

Gayle features in the top two spots of the list: 18 sixes in an innings while playing for Rangpur Riders against Dhaka Dynamites in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2017 and 17 sixes for RCB vs Pune in IPL 2013.
