IPL 2022: ‘I’m like a kid who wants to play under Dhoni,’ says India all-rounder

Dhoni has been associated with CSK since the first edition and now he is a name that is synonymous with the franchise.

One of the most sharpest cricketing brains, Dhoni is one of the most successful limited-overs skippers of all time. He led Team India to 3 ICC trophies and has captained CSK to four IPL titles, one less than record-holders Mumbai Indians.

Dhoni-led CSK also has the highest win percentage of matches among all teams in the IPL. Many youngsters wish to play under Dhoni at CSK and Deepak Hooda is no different.

Hooda, who was released from Punjab Kings, will be looking for a new franchise at the mega auction. “There is no team as such, I just want to play. But my personal favourite team is the Chennai Super Kings. I am like a kid who wants to play under MS Dhoni.”

“I am MS Dhoni's die-hard fan, I like his leadership as well. I have spoken to him many times. When I had come to the Indian team earlier as well, Dhoni bhai was also there. Then also I used to talk to him and after that, whenever we have met we have spoken.”

Ahead of the mega auction, CSK have retained only four players, including captain Dhoni. The other three are Moeen Ali, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja.

With 2 new teams added in the IPL, a mega auction is set to take place that would see almost all the teams get revamped. The auction is going to take place on Feb. 12 and 13 in Bengaluru.
