IPL 2022: It's great if I can play for CSK, says India’s wicketkeeper-batsman
IPL 2022: Mega Auction
Ahead of the IPL 2022, a mega auction is set to take place. It is a two-day affair and will be held on Feb. 12 and 13 in Bengaluru.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
MS Dhoni-led CSK are the defending champions and are one of the most successful teams in the tournament. CSK have won the IPL title four times, one behind Mumbai Indians (MI).
Dinesh Karthik
DK has played for as many as 6 IPL franchises so far: Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals), Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
DK has not played for India since 2019
DK, who has not played for India since World Cup 2019, has been regularly playing in the domestic circuit. He scored a century in the Vijay Hazare final but unfortunately, Tamil Nadu lost the game to first-time winners Himachal Pradesh.
DK on being picked in IPL auction
“It's very hard for me to answer this question because it will be a very cliched answer. I'll try and do everything that I can, not only to do well for the franchisee I play for but for myself also,” DK told PTI.
DK on playing for CSK
"Look, it's great if I can play for CSK. I'm from Chennai. But at the end of the day, what's important for me is whichever team that I get to play in, it will be an absolute honour because as I said, all this practice that I've been doing these days is to try and do well in a tournament like the IPL,” added DK.
DK on India come back
“Age is definitely not the thing that a lot of normal people look at it (for India comeback). Shikhar Dhawan was the highest run-getter (in ODIs in South Africa) and we are the same age. People tend to figure out, understand their body, the amount of cricket they can play and all of those reasons, like a big example was the way you know Shoaib Malik and Hafeez were able to contribute to Pakistan in the T20 World Cup.”
