Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defended their total of 165 against MI as they claimed a 54-run victory in IPL 2021 on Sunday.

Apart from MI’s openers, Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock, no other MI batter scored in double digits. Harshal Patel bagged four wickets, while other wickets were picked by Yuzvendra Chahal (3 for 11) and Glenn Maxwell (2 for 23).

Record vs MI in IPL
Harshal Patel became only the third bowler to take a hat-trick against MI in the IPL.
Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma, who started his IPL career with Deccan Chargers (DC), was the first player to clinch a hat-trick against MI. The off-spinner bagged the feat against MI during IPL 2009 and his victims were Abhishek Nayar, Harbhajan Singh and JP Duminy. DC won the match by 19 runs and were also the eventual champions that season.
Samuel Badree
During IPL 2017, Samuel Badree became only the second bowler to claim a hat-trick against MI in the competition. In that game, the West Indian leg spinner finished with figures of 4 for 9 but RCB lost the match by 4 wickets at Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Harshal is the third RCB bowler to take an IPL, after Praveen Kumar and Badree.
