Virat Kohli likely to miss ENG vs IND 1st ODI; Here’s Why
England vs India
The first ODI between India and England is scheduled to be played on Tuesday (July 12) at Kennington Oval, London.
India tour of England
India recently lost the one-off Test against England before winning the T20I series 2-1. The two sides are set to now lock horns in a three-match ODI series.
Virat Kohli
“Virat had a groin strain during the last game. It can't be confirmed whether it happened during fielding or while batting. He will probably miss the first ODI tomorrow at the Oval as the groin needs rest," a BCCI source told PTI.
Kohli’s struggles
Kohli is experiencing a lean patch and has not scored an international hundred since 2019. He even failed to register a fifty in his last four innings for India across formats.
Team India
Kohli didn't travel from Nottingham to London on the team bus as he could reportedly be having a medical check-up to assess his condition.
Virat Kohli in ODIs
The former India captain has scored 12,311 runs in 260 ODIs at an average of 58.07, including 43 centuries.
