Virat Kohli became the first-ever male cricketer to complete 3,000 runs in T20Is. Overall, he was the third cricketer to do so after NZ’s Suzie Bates and WI’s Stefanis Taylor.
Most fifties
Kohli holds the record for most half-centuries in the T20Is – 26, ahead of Rohit Sharma (25) and David Warner (19).
An India record
Kohli, who made his T20I debut for India in 2010, went 47 innings straight without getting dismissed for a duck. Among Indians, he has played the most innings before suffering his first duck. The overall record holder is ZIM’s Hamilton Masakadza (61 innings).
Most 4s in T20Is
Having struck 270 fours in 81 innings, Kohli has hit more fours than any other batsmen in the T20Is. Next on the list are Ireland’s Paul Sterling (251 fours) and NZ’s Martin Guptill (250 fours).
Fastest to 1,000 runs – India record
Among Indian batters, Kohli was the fastest to complete 1,000 runs in the T20Is – 27 innings. The overall record-holder is Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, who had taken one innings less than Kohli.
Fastest to 2,000 T20I runs
Kohli needed only 56 innings to finish 2,000 runs in the shortest format for India as he beat the other batters pretty comprehensively. Next on the list are Aaron Finch (62 innings) and Brendon McCullum (66 innings).
