Outside US Consulate Protests Continue On 2nd Day. The issue of Devyani against the ill-treatment meted out by the US authorities to Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade in New York.

Hyderabad: Protests continued near the US consulate at Begumpet in Hyderabad for the second consecutive day on Friday. It is evident that the left parties and the student unions jointly carried out a protest near the American consulate at Begumpet in Hyderabad on Thursday concerning the issue of Devyani against the ill-treatment meted out by the US authorities to Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade in New York.

On Friday, it was the leaders of the main opposition party of Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party, who took the active part to carry out the protest for the cause of Devyani. Many leaders of TDP, including former minister T. Srinivas Yadav, were arrested by the police. The TDP leader demanded that the US government immediately tender an unconditional apology for the incident.

Among the others who staged Dharna, the members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) are the main, who condemned the humiliation for an Indian diplomat. The protestors raised slogans against the U.S and demanded for an unconditional apology from the Obama.
