KCR Reacts on Telangana Bill Rejection. Using the vested special voting power with the speaker of the state assembly, the Andhra Pradesh state assembly has rejected the Telangana draft bill tabled in the state assembly on Thursday.
Few hours after the state assembly episode, following the chaos around the state on Thursday, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi Party president, K Chandrasekhar Rao addressed the media and said there was no single issue that causes worry. KCR said he will leave for New Delhi from Andhra Pradesh and step back only in Telangana state. Further, he said within a span of 15 days, Telangana will be realized. He said no state assembly has the right to question Article 3 and referred the Supreme Court verdict of Uttaranchal state that if majority was required, no state can be ever formed.
KCR wondered what answer the Seemandhra leaders would give to their citizens once Telangana is formed, as they have been bluffing their people on made-up things.
KCR said Seemandhra leaders are all aware that Telangana formation is inevitable; but, simply they are bluffing the folks over there. He said the leaders hailing from the Seemandhra region have created such a situation that affinity between people would find no place, post bifurcation. There is no question of winning and losing in case of state bifurcation, added KCR. As per Article 3, the state assembly has no right to either reject or accept the bill; only opinions can be expressed, added KCR. He said Parliament is the ultimate authority to pass the bill and not the state assembly.
KCR said he had the information that there will be an increase in the number of the assembly seats in the Telangana state and said he welcomes this move of union government. He wondered whether there was ever anything called original bill or duplicate bill. He said as the bill can be amended at the competitive level, it is always referred as a draft bill.
KCR opined that the final bill may not be the same as the one tabled in the state assembly. He dedicated the victory of Telangana to the Telangana martyrs. Further, he said his dream is for a wonderful Telangana statehood and said that will be achieved very shortly after the formation of Telangana. He said he will call on Sonia Gandhi, who is responsible for Telangana formation. As the final touch, he invited the media people to accompany with the kith and kin to celebrate a party with him during their next meet.
