Rajinikanth's Lingaa: Reasons to watch

Superstar of Tamil cinema Thailaiva Rajinikanth who enjoys a global fan following will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow. But what will make his birthday special will be the release of his much awaited film Lingaa. Here are reasons why the movie is a must watch.

After Enthiran (titled Robot in Telugu) which released in the year 2010, this is the first time Rajini will be seen in person on the big screen. His earlier release Kochadaiyaan was an animated movie.

After wooing Miss world Aishwarya Rai and Bollywood's reigning queen Deepika Padukone, Rajini will be seen romancing two gorgeous ladies - Anushka Shetty and Bengali bombshell Sonakshi Sinha. Rajini however said in a recent interview that to romance girls half his age felt like a punishment.

The content of the film has been a hot topic of discussion in Kollywood circles with several film-makers claiming that the story has been copied from theirs. One is megastar Chiranjeevi's Indra and another a Tamil movie Uyir Anai a biopic on Colonel John Pennucuick

AR Rahman's music in the film is already a superhit. The film crew even held a music success meet recently

The film was launched at Chaumdi Hills (Chamundeshwari temple) in Mysore

The film has been extensively shot at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad while a few scenes have also been canned in Shimoga district of Karnataka
