In a pre-dawn swoop, the Guntur police foiled YSR Congress party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's fast on Tuesday by shifting him to a hospital.

According to reports, he was admitted to the intensive care unit and forcibly administered fluids. Police swooped on the fasting camp at 4 am and forcibly evicted him at 4.11 am.

YS Jagan told the police that he would continue to fast, but the police forcibly shifted him to an ambulance. Scores of party workers and followers of YS Jagan reached the hospital where the police resorted to mild lathi-charge to disperse them.

YS Vijayamma, YS Bharathi and Sharmila reached the hospital and met Jagan, who is undergoing treatment at the ICU.
