Khammam: Minimum two accidents in a week will take place on the main road of Khammam and Devarapeta main road near Mittapalli bridge in Thallada mandal in the district.

Thousands of vehicles will pass through this bridge daily since this is the main road which leads to Rajahmundry. The many potholes on the bridge are making the drivers to lose control the vehicles. This in turn is leading to accidents, injuring both the drivers and also other people going on the road.

The locals alleged that the officials of R&B department are neglecting to take the road repair works of the bridge, even after complaining several times to them.

A few days ago, a lorry was overturned on the bridge in which the cleaner died on the spot. The people driving two-wheelers are facing trouble during night times as there are not warning sign boards near the bridge.

Stating that Road and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao passed through the same bridge several times to go to his own constituency, Sattupally, the people questioned as to why the Minister was not giving orders for repairing the road on Mittapalli bridge.

The locals requested the R&B officials to respond immediately and repair the road on Mittapalli bridge as early as possible to avoid further accidents.
