The Rajya Sabha on Tuesday witnessed a ruckus over CBI raids at the Delhi chief minister's office as well as convening of the Arunachal Pradesh assembly session by the governor, forcing three adjourments in the pre-lunch session.
When the house met after two brief adjournments, TMC member Derek O'brian again raised the issue of CBI raids at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's office.
TMC members shouted slogans against Narendra Modi government and trooped near the chariman's seat.
Members of the Congress protested convening of the Arunachal Pradesh assembly session by the governor.
Chairman Hamid Ansari's repeated requests to the members not to disrupt question hour went in vain.
Earlier, when the house met for the day, the deputy chairman adjourned the house for 15 minutes and then till 12 noon.
Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad raised the issue of convening of the assembly session in Arunachal Pradesh.
Azad said: "Democracy is being murdered in Arunachal Pradesh. The governor is behaving like a dictator."
Leader of the house, Arun Jaitley said the proceedings of an assembly cannot be discussed in this house. It will set a wrong precedent., he added.
But Congress members trooped near the podium, shouting slogans.
Amid the din Deputy Speaker P.J. Kurien adjourned the house for 15 minutes, then till 12 noon and again till 12.30 p.m.
