Constable recruitment drive begins

Adilabad: The district police organised 5-km and 2.5 km run events here on Tuesday for the selection of police constables. Out of 550 women candidates, who took part in the 2.5 km run test, 430 candidates were qualified. Similarly, 46 men candidates were qualified out of 1,000 in the 5 km-run event. At Airport Grounds, the 5 km-run and 2.5 km-run were held separately. District SP Sarvashresht Tripati, who launched the events, said the qualified candidates would have to appear for physical tests which will be held at the district police headquarters in Adilabad on March 25 and 26. He also informed that the district police was providing an opportunity for those candidates, who were absent during the running competitions, to appear again on March 24 and appealed to the candidates to avail the facility. Additional SPs T Apparao, N V Kishan Rao, DSPs M K Maheswar Raju, B Narayana Rao and other officials were present.
