Legendary Carnatic musician Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna inaugurated Slate-The School at Tadigadapa on Monday. The veteran, along with eminent violinist Annavarapu Ramaswamy, taught a sloka to children at the new campus on the occasion.

Children chorused when the legendary musician rendered the sloka. Balamuralikrishna exhorted children to strive to become good citizens. School chairman V Amarnadh said that the institution ventured into Andhra Pradesh by setting up its school in Vijayawada.

“The school has four branches in Hyderabad. The total student strength of the schools in Telangana State is 8,000. Our focus is on holistic development of students to ensure their career growth,’’ he said. Children will present ‘Balaneerajanam’ in honour of Balamuralikrishna at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College at Durgapuram today. It will be followed by felicitation to Balamuralikrishna and his vocal concert till 9 pm. Statues of Balamuralikrishna and Ramaswamy will be unveiled by State Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao on the occasion.
