The first day of the fete saw the staging of the play ‘Mahatmulara Malli Puttandi’ by the Tenali Town Stage Artistes Association. The play, written and directed by MP Kanneswara Rao, focussed on the present-day politics and selfishness of politicians who are ready to stoop to any level. The play ends with a common man's appeal to Mahatma Gandhi and other national leaders to be born again in order to cleanse the corrupt political system and society.
