Representatives of 13 districts led by APTF general secretary P Babu Reddy in a meeting here on Saturday opposed the corporate culture in municipal schools.


In a meeting organized by A P United Teachers Federation (APTF) president I Venkateswara Rao said that the IIT foundation courses proposed by Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana may affect the regular classes. He said that the foundation courses should be conducted on holidays in addition to the regular classes.

Opposing the corporate culture in municipal schools, he said the government should concentrate more on improving infrastructure in municipal and government schools. He said the vacant teacher posts should be filled up immediately. He also added that additional posts should be sanctioned as per staff pattern in municipal schools.


The APTF leader demanded school assistant level posts in high schools and upgrading of SGT, pundit and PET posts. He said the transfers should be made on counseling basis. He said corporate culture should not be implemented in municipal schools and examination system should be on NCERT pattern. He also asked for toilets to be provided in all municipal schools and the increase in the number of classrooms.
