Taiwan-based computer hardware company ASUS has unveiled on Monday its first robot "Zenbo" along with a series of Zenfone 3 smartphones and a lightweight notebook ZenBook 3 at "Computex 2016". "Zenbo," to be displayed during the international information technology event at the Taipei World Trade Centre from May 31 to June 4, is a friendly home robot designed to provide assistance, entertainment and companionship to people.

"For decades, humans have dreamed of owning such a companion: one that is smart, dear to our hearts and always at our disposal. Our ambition is to enable robotic computing for every household," said Jonney Shih, ASUS chairman, in a statement on Monday. The three new ZenFone 3 smartphones are ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Ultra.

ZenFone 3 Deluxe is the flagship model and is constructed with a strong and light aluminum alloy unibody. It features a 5.7-inch Full HD super AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 series processor and up to 6GB RAM. The device has 23MP camera and three-axis electronic image stabilisation for steady 4K UHD videos.

The ZenBook 3 notebook is powered by Intel Core i7 processor and comes with 16GB RAM, up to a 1TB SSD, a USB Type-C port and a powerful quad-speaker audio by Harman Kardon. Its high-resolution 12.5-inch display has tough, scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 4. ZenBook 3 provides up to nine hours of battery life.
