“Education today is not about ranks and scores but enabling students with employability skills. No institution can ever achieve 100 per cent placement, it can only contribute in educating the child,” said the Dean, School of Engineering and Technology at BML Munjal University, Amitava Babi Mitra.

Addressing the news persons here on Thursday, Amitava opined that the aspirants of Engineering are undergoing several competitive tests in respective States and at national level to score admissions in top grade universities. “The stress is more as every student has to undergo a minimum of 6 to 8 tests for a seat. Education is the sector which the Hero Group are eyeing to provide industry ready candidates from the country. BML Munjal University, founded by the Group is certain about the quality of education with skill development.”

Joy of Engineering is a unique course of the University which gives hands on and outcome based course where students work in teams to identify a problem, work out a solution and defend the prototype. Their product or solution will be fabricated in a workshop using 3D printers. They get to work under international tie-ups and also get to go overseas for an experience. Mitra also mentioned that they are about 120 Telugu students in their institution who are pursuing Engineering at their campus in Gurgaon.

“We had interviews with the students who wished to take admission in our institution which is completely residential. An interactive session for the parents and the faculty received overwhelming response,” he added. Depending on their merit and skills, only 60 students are selected per batch and we are pretty sure there is going to be 20 per cent of representation from Andhra Pradesh alone. The fee for a complete programme is about Rs 8.8 lakh, added Mitra.
