Honda has been busy with its 2016 motorsport season, as it has made quite a few changes which can be seen in the company’s press release for the latest season. Flagging off the 2016 season will be the ninth edition of the Honda One Make race, which now will also have an all women’s race.

Additionally, Honda has updated the race spec CBR250R and CBR150R for the new season. Another welcome addition is the helpline number introduced by the company to promote the sport at a grassroot level among young aspirants.

The Honda One Make race will commence on the 24th of June at the Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore. The series has achieved a great deal in promoting motorsports in India.

Carrying on this tradition, Honda has also launched a new motorsports helpline number 0124-6712863, for all the youngsters dreaming about a career in motorsports.

The helpline will allow any rider to reach out to the Honda racing team, out of which the deserving candidates will be given training at Honda’s Ten10 Racing academy.

The students will be trained by professionals regarding multiple aspects of track riding, which will play a major role in honing their skills on the track. The academy will also provide technical support and race spec bikes with proper race gear to all the aspirants that have been selected for the programme.

As for the bikes, while Honda will still be using the CBR150R and CBR250R, the bikes have been updated for the 2016 season. The new race spec CBR250R gets an upgraded Honda racing kit, including wiring harness with a remapping option, advanced racing body cowl kit and an endurance exhaust.

The CBR150R gets a reprogrammed ECU with an endurance exhaust. The bikes will be a great starting point for budding racers to learn the basics of racing under professional guidance and supervision.

Another fresh introduction is the inclusion of the all-women’s race in this year’s calendar. With a single race being held last year in the round 5 of the One Make race, Honda has organised an entire series this year exclusively for women.

The step will encourage women participation in such future events. In all, 10 women riders will compete in the first round of the Honda exclusive women racing event. The woman riders will also be trained at the Honda Ten10 Racing academy.
