“Electric cars are going to play a more significant role in the future and electrified version will be made available across the car lines of Volvo. By the end of 2019, a fully electrified car will be launched,” said the Volvo Cars Group Vice president for Asia, Jari Kohonen during the inauguration of country’s biggest flagship centre near Nidamanuru, here on Monday.

By the end of 2019, a fully electrified car will be launched,” said the Volvo Cars Group Vice president for Asia, Jari Kohonen during the inauguration of country’s biggest flagship centre near Nidamanuru, here on Monday.
Addressing the news reporters, Jari Kohonen mentioned that there are keen on expanding the dealer network and have chose Vijayawada to set up the biggest showroom owing to the demand from people of Andhra Pradesh after Hyderabad. The biggest USP of the cars is that they put human first and their safety is of highest regard. Aim of the Volvo group is to ensure zero injuries or death by these cars by 2020. Also, we are investing more focus in the region to expand our hold, he said.
Managing Director of Volvo Auto India (VAI), Tom von Bonsdorff said, “Volvo Cars have registered a growth of 20 per cent in sales across the country which is increasing at a faster rate. The people centric, high level safety machines are gaining more ground in the South Indian States and expanding rapidly in Andhra Pradesh. We got strong hold in Chennai, Kochi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Cars from Volvo in the other Telugu speaking regions apart from Hyderabad constitute to about 40 per cent.” All the variants of Volvo namely V40, V40 cross country, S60 and S 60 cross country, XC60, XC90 are available at the flagship store that is dealt by SRK Cars.
