Ananda Shankar Jayant and her troupe presented `Srirama Namam Entho Ruchira’ dance ballet at Siddhartha Auditorium in the city on Saturday. Mummaneni Subbarao Siddhartha Kalapeetham organised the ballet as part of its efforts to promote art and culture in the capital region.

Ananda Shankar Jayant, a renowned classical dancer, chose saint composer Bhakta Ramadasu who constructed Sri Rama temple at Bhadrachalam, as the subject for his dance ballet. Though the devotion of Bhakta Ramadasu is known to all, the way in which the ballet is composed, won the accolades of audience.

She used ‘Idhigo Bhadradri Gowthami Adigo Chudandi’, `Garuda Gamana Rara’, `Srirama Nee Namamento Ruchira’ and other Keerthanas of the saint composer aptly adding more devotional flavour to the ballet. The choreography was good.

The `Pada Narthanam’ of all the artistes, including M Sneha, Soundarya Lahari, Kaja Harshita, Bhamidipati Nandini, Krupa Ravi, Srinidhi Narasimhan, Promodh Reddy and Jaanimiya, was graceful. The good technical support of Basava Raju and Neeraja made the ballet more colourful. After the end of the ballet, Ananda Shankar Jayant and her troupe was felicitated by Siddhartha Kalapeetham.
