Two for all, all for two
Having started their journey on 27th June, NirmaliNath and DharitriTerangpi are headed to Leh. The road trip began from Guwahati and the initiative has been named Nirdhar, an acronym of both girls’ names. They are the first woman duo to undertake the trip from north-east India.
Biking escapades of two women rides, riding from Assam to Leh on Royal Enfield, promoting women empowerment
Having started their journey on 27th June, NirmaliNath and DharitriTerangpi are headed to Leh. The road trip began from Guwahati and the initiative has been named Nirdhar, an acronym of both girls’ names. They are the first woman duo to undertake the trip from north-east India.
Having set off from IOCL, Guwahati Refinery down National Highway 31 C, the ride is focused on empowering women. Crossing the Assam border, took the riders to Coochbehar district in West Bengal before heading down NH 57, crossing Simrahi in Bihar before entering Uttar Pradesh via NH 28 and spending some time in Gorakhpur, before crossing Ayodhya and Lucknow.
From there the girls headed onto Yamuna Expressway. Both riders reached Delhi on 2nd July. An evening meet and greet saw the riders spend sometime with fellow rider Mamta Rana, aka the Freewheelin Gyps from Ghaziabad, rider PallaviFauzdar from Delhi and others at India Gate.
Today, they head to Punjab. The 20 day trip takes them across 7,000 kms to Leh. Both riders ride a Classic 350, and are headed to Khardung La. Once there, they will ride from Leh to Srinagar, clocking another 1250 kms. – Rush Lane
