Kurumurthy Raya has won Swarna Gomatha Award in an International Documentary Film Festival on `Ancient Hindu Temples in My Village (Town) - Past & Present’ organised by the Global Hindu Heritage Foundation (GHHF) and Savetemples.org, USA.

In a statement on Tuesday, Prof Velagapudi Prakasarao, president of GHHF, and Ghazal Srinivas, Cultural Brand Ambassador, said `Kurumurthy Raya’ the documentary was produced and directed by Nagasai Makkam. Rajatha Gomatha Award was bagged by `Mahendragiri’ documentary, which was produced and directed by Kothapalli Seetaram.

Kamsya Gomatha Award went to `Manushulu Chesina Devudu’, which was produced by Harisha and directed by Sathya Prasad. The first, second and third prizes of the documentary film festival carry cash awards of Rs 1 lakh, Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.

`Kolimigundla Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy’, `Maa Voori Devudu Andarivaadu’ and `Mana Vaibhavam’ documentary films were selected for consolation prizes of Rs 10,000 each. The jury of the documentary film festival comprised renowned cine director Gopala Krishna, theatre personality Dixit DS and poet Sirasri. The prize distribution function will be held at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad in the third week of August, they said.
