Hastashilpi Artisans and weavers welfare Association opended a six-days 'Silk India Expo-2016’ at Vedika Kalyana Mandapam, near Benz Circle here on Friday. The expo will remain open till July 27.

The intension of the organisation is to make accessible and attain the products directly to the customers, without the mediators to the weavers and artisans.” The 70-odd stalls are filled with hand block print sarees, suit and silk bed covers, designer ware and border, lazes, kurtis, hand woven matka and Assam Muga Fabrics, Apoorva silk sarees.

Embroidered designer silk saris and dress materials, Bhagalpur suits, printed silk sarees, reshmi plain and butti saris, Karnataka silk sarees, Maheshwari, Chanderi silk sarees and suit and Mulberry silk with temple border, Banaras jamdani, hand-woven sarees and suits are other highlights.

Kanjivaram pattu in the price brand of Rs 15,000 to Rs 2,00,000 and above, Pochampalli, Dharamvaram sarees from south India, Kolkata special Baluchari sarees with a starting price of Rs 4,ooo, Madhya Pradesh Chanderi sarees, Knyakumari sarees, Bangladesh special organic Taser silk, desi silk, chiffon sarees are on display.
