Global chip maker Intel on Tuesday announced superfast 7th Gen Core processors that utilise a power-efficient micro-architecture, advanced process technology and silicon optimisations to deliver faster performance than previous generation processors.
Global chip maker Intel on Tuesday announced superfast 7th Gen Core processors that utilise a power-efficient micro-architecture, advanced process technology and silicon optimisations to deliver faster performance than previous generation processors.
The new 7th Gen Intel Core processors will include Intel Core m3 processor and Core i3, i5 and i7 processors. The 7th Gen Intel Core 14nm processors are designed for the immersive internet experience and are built on Skylake micro-architecture, the company said in a statement.
The new processors will deliver 70 per cent faster mobile productivity, 3.5 times better 3D graphics performance and will allow for faster 4K UHD creation and watching and streaming of 4K UHD content longer.
"We are excited about the strong partnership with our original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers and expect more than 100 different 2-in-1s and laptops powered by 7th gen Intel Core to be available starting in September through the holiday season," said Navin Shenoy, Corporate Vice President and General Manager, Client Computing Group (CCG), Intel Corporation.
Gamers will see a three-fold improvement in graphics with the new generation of processors and with Thunderbolt 3 support coming to more devices, gamers can use a single cord to plug in an external graphics dock and 4K UHD monitors for top-line gaming performance.
"We are delighted to see the advances in graphics, performance and battery life that the upcoming release of the 7th gen Intel Core will deliver," added Michael Fortin, Corporate Vice President, Windows and Devices Group Core Quality, Microsoft.
