The Institute of Engineers (India) hosted 32nd National Convention of Electronics and Communications Engineers at a private hotel in the city on Monday.

The Institute of Engineers (India) hosted 32nd National Convention of Electronics and Communications Engineers at a private hotel in the city on Monday. The convention was conceptualised to bring awareness on IoT concepts among teachers, students and industry. The two-day event started on a grand note and many professional engineers and students of various colleges took part in the event.

Speaking on the occasion, the chairman and the managing director of Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) Ghanta Subbarao said that the state has got an ample scope in developing and implementing the new technologies with Internet of Thing (IoT). He also said that AP is the first state to have its own IoT policy. He further said the government has already took initiative in certain areas like using drone technology to fight mosquito menace, Digitalising the classrooms and Aadhar enabled systems at all government offices.

The commissioner of Collegiate and technical education B Udhayalakshmi said that the state has got large number talented students and working on innovative concepts with the use of technology. She also said that government is giving top priority for the optimum utilisation of IoT concepts in various fields like Education, Agriculture and in daily administration.

The innovation and incubation centers would be established by the nest educational year in all the engineering colleges, she added. Around 150 representatives from various engineering colleges attended the convention. Experts from the industry gave presentations on how an idea can be driven to implementation using IoT concepts.
