As a part of monthly programme, Swaratarangini, a cultural organisation, has conducted Dr Mohan Chandrasekhar’s violin concert at Sivaramakrishna Ksheram (Ramakoti) on Thursday evening. Dr Mohan Chandrasekhar hailed from Chennai and started his classical music career under the guidance of Charubala Mohan. He started concerts at the age of 11. His fine and melodious tunes on the violin became popular and received number of appreciations and felicitations form the organisation. Mohan Chandrasekhar commenced concert with the keerthana “ Viriboni” in Bhairava Ragam composition of Pachimiriyam Adiappayya.

He continued with the keerthanas “Vatapiganapatim Bhajeham” Muttuswamy deekshitar composition in Hamsadwani ragam, Saint Thyagaraja’s “Naa Jeevadhara” in Bilahari ragam , “Enta muddo” in Bindumalini ragam, “Nannu vidichi” in Reetigowla ragam, “Vara Narada” in Vijayasree ragam, “Nagumomu” in Abhiri ragam, Sitaa kalyana” in kurunji ragam and the astapadi of Jayadeva “Radhika Krishna” in Vasanthi ragam. The audience enjoyed the tunes given by Chandrasekhar and his concert was supported by G Bharathi on violin, K Sadgurucharan on mridangam and M Haribabu on Ghatam.
