The Hyundai Creta has been a runaway success for the manufacturer. Even after being priced higher than its competitors, the SUV has done fairly impressive for itself. In fact, the sales for the model has crossed the milestone of 1 lakh units in the first year itself.

The Hyundai Creta in its current form is powered by two sets of diesel engines and a petrol engine. The 1.6-litre CRDi diesel puts out 128 PS and 260 Nm of torque, on the other hand the 1.4-litre CDRi oil burner generates 90 PS and 220 Nm of torque. The 1.6-litre MPi petrol engine belts out 123 PS and 151 Nm of torque.

The manufacturer is expected to launch the second gen Hyundai Creta in 2021 for which work has already started. Moreover, Hyundai has started working on a facelift that is expected to be shown at the upcoming 2016 Sao Paolo Auto Show. It is expected to get a revised front facia and some styling tweaks. The same model will come to our market sometime later next year.

One of the main weakness of the Hyundai Creta in front of rivals like the Mahindra XUV500 is that it does not get the option of seven seats. Hyundai will address this issue in the next generation Creta. Once it gets this option, the Creta will virtually stand unopposed in the segment with top quality interiors, strong set of engines and a comfortable ride.
