Saptagiri channel of Doordarshan, Vijayawada has organised a cultural bouquet titled ‘Rasa Jhuri’ on Tuesday at Tummalapallivari Kshetrayya Kala kshetram. The programme consisted of classical dances, folk dance, western dance, light music, film based songs and comedy skits. The cultural event commenced with a colourful traditional dance on “Maha Ganapatim” by the troupe of Ajay kumar. The disciples of Ajaykumar portrayed excellent 'pada' and 'kara vinyasam' for the first item of the event.

Bhagavatula Venkatrama Sarma coreographed a meaningful patriotic dance which depicts the national spirit and also the recent Government innovative actions like ‘swatch Bharat’ in the dance item presented by his troupe. Guruswamy a noted performer received lauds of applause from the audience for rendering the film song in reverse and also rendering some parody songs. Bhaviri Ravi presented some skits with his troupe and tried to make the audience laugh as well.

The students of St Johns school have presented the dance medley based on both Telugu and Hindi film songs. The students performed western fusion dance also. Krishna Chaitanya, Vasmsi, Pallavi, Silpa, Anjana Sowmya, Harini rendered some light music and film songs. Noted senior journalist, Padmasri Dr Turlapati Kutumbarao and famous artist ‘Padmasri’ Dr SV Rama Rao inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.

The anchoring of Mrudula was impressive and the efforts of the Station Director Vijaya Bhagavan and his team deserve appreciation for conducting such an event in Vijayawada. The artistes of Vijayawada have deeply felt that the Vijayawada based Saptagiri Channel has ignored local talent though there are many troupes for performing comedy skits in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and also other towns in Andhra Pradesh.
