A two-day women handloom exhibition cum training was jointly by the department of language and Culture, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Minaakshi arts and crafts welfare society and the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA).

The chief guest Dr D Vizai Bhaskar, Director, Department of language and culture, government of Andhra Pradesh, said that the women handloom workers would be encouraged and employment would be provided by the government. The government would give their support to the women handloom workers from developing proficiency, learn modern techniques to sell their products, said Vizai Bhaskar.

About thirty two women will be trained by five women trainers in Art with coffee powder, kondapalli toys, koyya toys, paper toys, clay toys, ornaments, print on clothing. BV Srujan Senior Artist of Tanjore will train them in painting, said Dr Reddy. S V Ramarao, eminent painter, A Malleswara Rao, Director, All India Radio, G Narayana RAo, Andhra art Academy Secretary, Sandeep CEO, Malaxmi properties and K Minaakshi and others were present.
