City cricketer Dasatagiri in SGFI AP team

City boy SD Dastagiri has been selected for the Andhra Pradesh School Games Federation of India (SGFI) under-19 cricket team.

The SGFI AP team will be represent Andhra Pradesh in the All India inter states SGFI cricket tournament, which will be held at Bhopal from December 25.

He excelled in SGFI Inter district under-19 boys cricket tournament which was conducted at Machilipatnam recently.

He had been represented Krishna district under-19 team and took ten wickets in the inter district tournament

The budding cricketer has been studying junior intermediate at KBN College in the city.

He comes from a poor background with his father into welding.

Dastagiri got the best bowler award in the inter district tourney and Minister for Excise Department Kollu Ravindra felicitated him.

Dastagiri coaching under the able guidence of Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) coach K Srinivas at Makineni Basavaiah Punnaiah (MBP) Municipal Corporation stadium, located at Ajith Singhnagar in the city.

The KDCA secretary A Yella Rao has presented him with a pair of the cricket dress to Dastagiri for his outstanding performance in the sport.

He congratulated the budding cricketer and hopes that he would exhibit very good performance in the SGFI cricket.
