Siddhartha Mahila College, Vuyyuru Siddhartha top in Kho-Kho Championship
Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala (SDMSMK), and AG and SG Siddhartha College women’s teams have entered into the league stage in Krishna University Inter Collegiate (KRUIC) kho-kho tournament.
Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala (SDMSMK), and AG and SG Siddhartha College women’s teams have entered into the league stage in Krishna University Inter Collegiate (KRUIC) kho-kho tournament. These two teams topped in points and the final match will be played on Thursday.
KRUIC women’s kho-kho tournament began at Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala on Wednesday. Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Officer on Special Duty (OSD) P Rama Krishna inaugurated the two-day inter collegiate championship.
About women teams from seven colleges are participating in the tournament. As per norms the matches are conducted on a knockout cum league basis. Siddhartha Mahila kalasala and Vuyyur AG and SGS College won two knockout matches and entered into the league stage.
Speaking on the occasion SAAP OSD Rama Krishna said that Krishna University is giving top priority to sports and games. In future, the state government would add additional marks to the talented players and achievers of medals, he added. It would definitely be of advantage for students trying to get jobs, he added.
Krishna University Sports Board secretary Dr N Srinivasa Rao, Siddhartha Mahila College principal Dr T Vijaya Lakshmi, Krishna District Kho-Kho Association secretary NVS Prasad, tournament organising secretary Ravi Kantha and others participated.
