Railway Engineering team clinches Sankranti Cup

The Vijayawada Railway Division Engineering team clinched the first Sankranti Cup Five-A side Inter departmental Football tournament which was held at railway mini stadium in the city. Engineering team beat Electrical Traction Distribution (Trd) by 3-0 goals in the final super league match.

Engineering team players Niroshan Mani had scored two goals and A Vamsi krishna had scored one. Electrical Traction Distribution (Trd), Electrical General Services teams have stood second and third places respectively.

The Divisional Railway Manager (DRm) Ashok Kumar handed over trophies to Sankranti Cup champion engineering and first and second runner team TRD and GS team respectively on Monday night. For the first time divisional sports association conducted the Five-A side Football tournament.

Speaking on the occasion DRM Ashok Kumar said that the first Sankranti Cup Five-A side Football tournament has evoked good response from the teams. All the players, employees and their family members enjoyed a lot, he said.

Additional DRM K Venugopala Rao, senior divisional mechanical enginner Pradeep Kumar, senior divisional engineer (co-ordination) GVVS Raju, Sports Welfare Inspector N Arjuna Rao and others participated in the closing function.
