Mercedes-Maybach G65 G-Class with convertible top leaked

Here are the first photos of the much awaited Mercedes-Maybach G65 4×4² Landaulet. This new variant of the classic G Class with body style akin to a limousine, and passenger section covered by a convertible top, will be launched in Europe first.

Set to be offered in limited numbers, the G65 4×4 Landaulet will sport an electrically operated folding fabric roof opening exclusively over rear seats. As seen from photos, the rear portion of the cabin is completely separated from its front end and receives seating capacity for two along with a central console and TFT displays in front of them.

Mercedes-Maybach G65 4×4 Landaulet gets a body structure as seen on the G500 4×4, while B pillars and rear screen are removed to create a large rear segment. The hood, when not needed can be stowed away in a special section at the rear of the vehicle.

Engine specifications have also been leaked, with Mercedes-Maybach G65 4×4² Landaulet receiving a Mercedes AMG twin turbocharged 6.0 liter V12 engine offering 629.6 hp power at 5,000 rpm and 999.2 Nm torque at 2,300 to 4,300 rpm mated to a seven speed torque converter with automatic gearbox and four wheel drive system with three3 individual differential locks.

To go on display at 87th International Motor Show, Palexpo, 9-19 March 2017, Mercedes-Maybach G65 4×4 Landaulet will also be launched in India where pricing would be in the Rs 2.5 to 2.8 crore range.
