The mark of a true industry leader is not how much effort it puts in manufacturing a good product with honest foundations, instead it depends how efficiently a carmaker is able to evolve and adapt to the changing landscape and demand of the demography.

Companies such as Toyota and Hyundai are at the top of their class because of this, whereas the automakers who fail to address this falter at the bottom of the sales charts. Toyota will soon launch its latest Toyota C-HR compact SUV in India by 2018.

Come 2018, the new Toyota C-HR is all set to enter the colosseum currently dominated by fierce warriors such as the Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster.

The small Toyota carries weapons such as eye-grabbing looks, city-slicker dimensions, Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform which is claimed to be rigid while being light and offers impressive handling, and measurements which are longer, wider and higher than the Koreans and the French.

The car is forged keeping in mind the diamond architectural theme which suggests that it would have a modern and sharp design. The Toyota C-HR will be available with a choice of eight colours and equipped with cutting edge features such as 18-inch shoes, radar cruise control, and a host of other technologies. The car will be powered by a 2.0-litre, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine that will produce 144 HP of maximum power.

The engine will be mated to a CVT gearbox and the car will get a double-wishbone suspension setup at the rear. It will also get a diesel engine. There is also a slight chance that Toyota may go against the trend and offer a four-wheel drive mode as well. Expect the prices to be in the ballpark of Rs 15-18 lakh.
