Psychiatrist from Sree Manasa Psychiatric Nursing Home, Dr RK Ayodhya said that depression can be cured with the support of the family members. He said the World Health Organisation had announced ‘Depression, Let us Talk,’ as the Theme for this year.

Addressing a media conference here on Friday, Dr Ayodhya said one person is dying every 40 seconds in the world due to depression. He further said that one person in every five has been facing the problem of depression in the world and WHO has given due importance this year to highlight the severity of the problem in the world.

He suggested the family members should give maximum support to the person suffering from depression to recover from the illness and restart the normal life. He said that ‘Let us Talk’ is the good slogan to talk about the Depression and help the victims suffering from the psychological problems.
He said good health practices, nutrition diet, physical exercise, positive thinking and co-operation from the family members are useful to the persons suffering from Depression to get cure very early.

He said that depressed people must express their feelings particularly to the members of the family, friends and well wishers to reduce the depression and re start their life afresh. He said that good diagnosis and guidance is very much essential to the depressed people and felt identification of depression among the children and teenagers is very important to cure the problem early.
