The model EAMCET (online) and National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) was conducted under the aegis of Students Federation of India (SFI) all over the State on Thursday.

The question papers were released by MLC Boddu Nageshwara Rao and SFI secretary Noor Mohammad at UTF office here. Noor said that EAMCET and NEET examination was held at about 135 centres all over the state. In all, 28,000 students appeared for EAMCET and 26,000 students appeared for NEET exam.

Noor said that educationalist and former MLC Chukka Ramaiah was the convener of the examination and under his guidance the model EAMCET and NEET model question papers were prepared.

Speaking on the occasion Nageshwara Rao said that SFI was conducting model EAMCET examinations for the past 16 years in par with the regular exam by collecting a nominal exam fee.

The model EAMCET exam is very helpful for students who are preparing for EAMCET and NEET he added. He said it is observed that students who get ranks in the model EAMCET exam organised by SFI are getting good ranks in the main examination.

He further said that getting medical seats had become difficult and turned out to be a dream for the poor students. By giving autonomous status to private medical colleges, the PG medical college fees had been increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 30 lakh he added.

"By doing so only the rich are able to study MBBS and PG Medicine courses. The private colleges are collecting crores of rupees by selling the medical seats," he added. SFI state assistant secretary Ashok, district secretary T Praveen Kumar, T Someshwar Rao and others were present.
