In a compact city like Vijayawada, there are hardly any places for common people to spend time. The handloom and handicraft exhibition at Suryaraopet and Innovative trade fare exhibition at Patamata were the only places for the children with their parents.

Almost all the educational institutions have given the summer holidays. Students want to spent time with friends and relatives after a hot sunny day. The typical tropical summer season temperatures shoots up to 48 degrees in the day time in the Vijayawada city, and most of the people keep indoors.
Yogesh Rao a small time business man from Vijayawada said that there were hardly any places to come out with the family to spend time after a hot sunny day. There are no parks or playgrounds in and around the city. He said that the multi-purpose playground (PWD grounds) was encroached half the Ragavaiah park was gone under the expansion of the Bus Station road.
He said that after declaring Amaravati, as the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, the city is getting a facelift with new offices and establishments coming up. But for the common man there was any place left over. For a common man, Vijayawada city was like having ‘Everything without Anything’.
M Subba Rao a private employee, said that children opt to spend time at the exhibitions to have fun, entertainment and ambiance. He said that the Handloom and Handicraft cum Fun fair exhibition at Satavahana college grounds and Innovative trade fare exhibition opposite to Rythu bazaar was attracting children and families with various innovative and amusements.
The children find solace at the exhibition with various new amusements like Columbus,Snow world, Giant Wheel, Mini Roller Costar, Cup and Causer, Break Dance, Bumper Car, Tora Tora, Boating and for kids Commando, Mini Columbus, Horse Ride, Motor Cycle, Frog Jump, Para shoot Tower and trains were available he added.
In addition there are over 200 stalls at each exhibition centre showcasing saris, dress material, tops, leggings, interiors, chapels, house hold material, furniture, travel bag, kitchen and many more. For youth various types of bangles, leather bags, 1 gram gold ornaments and for kids various latest toys and electronic gadgets are available.All the inmates of the exhibitions are attracted to eateries with various types of fast foods, ice cream shops, cool drinks and others are available.
